Jungle & Heritage brings together two very different landscapes in one thoughtfully paced journey. Begin in Kathmandu, where centuries of history live alongside the rhythms of modern Nepali life. Wander through historic squares, discover sacred sites and take in the architecture and craftsmanship that make the Kathmandu Valley so distinctive.

Then leave the city behind and travel south to Chitwan, where the pace changes with the landscape. Spend your days exploring the national park, gliding along the Rapti River and discovering the region’s wildlife and Tharu heritage. Between safari experiences, enjoy time to unwind in the peaceful surroundings of your jungle lodge.

Designed for travellers who want to experience more of Nepal without rushing from place to place, this journey balances cultural discovery with time in nature, with comfortable stays and considered experiences along the way.

Arrival and departure flights: Please share your international flight details with Alta in advance so that airport transfers and departure arrangements can be coordinated appropriately.

Wildlife sightings: Chitwan is home to a diverse range of wildlife, but animals move freely through their natural habitats. Sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Seasonal conditions: Weather, river conditions and park regulations may affect the availability or timing of certain activities. The itinerary may be adjusted when necessary for safety or operational reasons.

Transport between destinations: Travel times between Kathmandu and Chitwan vary depending on the chosen transport method and weather conditions. Final arrangements will be confirmed before departure.

Cultural experiences: Please follow your guide’s advice when visiting religious sites and local communities. Modest clothing and respectful behavior are recommended at temples and other sacred places.
